Tour de Fashion

BYU has once again succeeded in matching up two beings who were destined to be together. Let me introduce the new love of my life: Agnes the classy Schwinn. Can I get an amen on this two-toned, vintage, basket-fronted, bell-adorned, one-speed thing of beauty? Fifty dolla dolla bills ,aka about 7 hours transcribing Book of Mormon roundtable discussions, has never before bought so much joy. Listening to Robert Millet drone on, mumble indistinguishably, talk over and boss around all the other professors was so worth it.

What time is it? Summertime!!
I know you all have giant paper chains counting down the days until the Dockum '08 (oh, great) reunion is upon us. I went and checked out the house and have now put up these pictures so that when you dream about how glorious it will be, you can have an accurate setting in your mind. Feast your eyes on our future!

Say hello to the living room. Are those leather couches I spy?
Cucina anyone? Only a high class cooking facility would go by its Italian moniker.

This happens to be the master bedroom but just know there are five rooms with beds similar to this one. The master bath even has a whirlpool tub. The best was when I told Jeff that and he goes, "Dibs on that for your mom and I................ uh awkward." Love him.

Here's the downstairs family room. Opposite of this in the room is a pool table, air hockey and foose ball. Maybe we can convince mom to do round 2 of the compete-for-monetary-prizes set up. Hmmm...........
And now the piece de resistance.......free brewskies!
Admit it, right now you're wondering to yourself how so much family goodness will fit in such a small house. Don't be fooled by it's humble exterior though.....

Now accepting donations......

....for the Kira's Phenomenal Future Bicycle Fund. I have come to the conclusion that if I am to be detained in Provo this spring and summer I need to have a classy, eco-friendly, heart-healthy alternate mode of transportation in an aesthetically pleasing shade of sea foam green. I will gladly accept cash or check. People, I know you are all looking for tax write-offs.

Let me see if you can run it, run it ....
This Saturday was none other than the renowned Rex Lee Run 10k race. I'm pretty sure the Ironman dreams about being as prestigious the Rex Lee. Trisha and I were pretty pleased with our times, at least until we realized that 70 year old men ran it faster than us.
My next endeavor is the Provo 10 miler this June. I can't wait to be beat out by more senior citizens.

Pre-Race: These are our tired "Why the heck are we up at 8am on a Saturday so we can go run in the freezing cold?" faces

Last week on the OC......
Seth and Summer rendezvous in Boise, Idaho. They have a nice, chill weekend with bike riding, picnics, cute emulating 3 year olds, delicious fajitas and a temple worker who thinks they are married. In other news Marissa is an alcoholic, Ryan has to bail his brother out of jail, Sandy finds out his business partner is stealing money from the company, Kirsten is pregnant at age 40 and Julie is still the biggest cougar on the block. Oh yeah, and Caleb is straight up dead.

Guess Who's Back, Back Again....
I know you have all been checking my blog faithfully these past months hoping against hope that your lives would be brightened by the return of my incredible wit and wisdom. I know it's hard to believe that it's finally happened but believe it. All is well in Zion.

Rock, Rockin' the Bible
You all probably think it cannot be done, but I am here to show you all it is possible to sum up two months of bygone Israelite adventures with a handful of words and pictures. Let the marveling commence.
There is rarely a site too holy or too ancient for us to make into an ANTM- Israel photo shoot.
Exhibit A: Sidonian family tombs circa 2nd century B.C.

We went to the Jerusalem zoo. I made a friend.
A personal favorite: tunnels. Hezekiah did it right and added water to his.
Yeah, that's a water line, not just two tone jeans.
Oh yeah, if you like this picture just wait until you see the video I took. Blair. Witch. Israel.
West Bank, Shmest Bank. When I went I could not for the life of me figure out what all the fuss was about.
Daniel who? Check out that sling-action.
(No one needs to know the rock I threw actually went backwards)

Hi, my name is Kira and I'm actually an 8 year old little boy.
Turns out I'm happiest when freestyle spelunking, and getting filthy and smelly in the process.
Don't worry, I take things seriously and go to serious places too. The Garden Tomb in is just a teensy
walk from the JC. The Holy Land is unbelievable.
G-L-A-M-O-R-O-U-S
Please note the fanny pack, ever-present headset,
unattractive outfit, and
then just imagine the Chaco sandals.
Welcome to my life.

From Jordan with Love
Although devoid of any Halloween festivities, I've found the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan has many other enjoyable aspects:

"Why, yes King Abdullah. I would love to ride around with you on your sidecar motorcycle once your important United Nations meeting is over. By the way, you look smashing in that chic pinstripe suit. "
Meet Mr. Gazim, your friendly neighborhood security guard/taxi whistler at-er.
He graciously bestowed a sloppy/mustache kiss upon my cheek.
Jealous?

The dollar might be weaker than ever, but you can still get a delicious falafel for .35 dinar!
Rick Reil should really consider making a third office at the Amman Citadel ruins.

Do not forget the Holy Land's favorite things: rocks , dirt and old things!
Petra, I must say, had the snazziest combination of those I have yet seen. Good form Petra.
